LED Illuminator: high-output underwater lighting designed for long-term deployment alongside MarineSitu cameras.

L1 LED illuminator

14,000 lumens built for the long haul

The L1 uses a CREE CBX3590 high-efficiency LED array to deliver over 14,000 lumens through a 115° beam, enough to illuminate the working distance of C1 and C3 cameras in low-visibility or deep-water environments. At 162 lumens per watt, it runs efficiently even at continuous illumination duty cycles.

Strobe and PWM trigger inputs enable precise light synchronization with camera frame timing via the CC1 hub. A thermal regulator prevents overheating during extended deployments, and the anodized aluminum housing with borosilicate viewport and copper antifouling retaining ring matches the durability of the C1 platform.
